An unprecedented wave of solidarity for refugees has risen across Europe and proclaims loud and clear:"refugees-welcome- open the borders." The outcry for refugees and migrants lives lost in the Mediterranean has turned into a mass anti-racist movement.It is a movement movement of solidarity for refugees and migrants fleeing from death in their countries. They are persecuted by the bombs of the West and Russia, the bullets of dictators and ISIS and the economic disasters of the IMF.This movement has the potential to isolate the fascists. The far right are trying to pour again the racist poison of Islamophobia, building on the policies of governments with fences, concentration camps and the erosion of the right to asylum.
The EU Summits worse the politics of racist Fortress Europe, of closed borders. There is an escalation of racist attacks with militarization of the border guard by FRONTEX- Europol and the development of “hotspot” new concentration camps. The policy of sorting and mass expulsions of refugees / immigrants is an openly bankrupt policy.
The EU operation to hold refugees in mass guarded camps in Turkey is a scandal. It gives support to Erdogan at a time that he has declared war on the Kurds in Turkey.
At the same time the EU is toughening its stance against migrants. EU is planning mass expulsions by special flights of thousands who have no papers or their requests for asylum and residence have been rejected.
The lies of governments and their racist scaremongering pave the way for the rise of extreme right in Europe.
We call on people to unite so as to close the road to fascist and racist parties.
We demand to open the borders to save refugees from the hazards of entry by stormy seas, mines, rivers and from the hands of the traffickers.
Let the fences fall from Evros to Calais, dismantle FRONTEX.
We call for coordinated action in order to stop the new measures of further fortification of racist EU fortress and to put an end to the fascist threat.

A gigantic solidarity movement to refugees shakes the premises of racist fortress Europe, demanding to open the borders so refugees can enter to the European countries. The movement demands a fall of fences from Evros to Calais, to shut down FRONTEX, to slose the concentration camps . This movement is the best antidote to the governments of the EU that are playing the card of racism and islamophobia to turn migrants and refugees into scapegoats for the bankrupt policies of austerity, those who sow the poverty, unemployment and despair. Open the border to welcome the refugees from Turkey to Greece through Evros
A human caravan is on its way towards the land border with Turkey in Evros to avoid the endless drowning in the Aegean sea. Over athousand refugees began a long march from Izmir to reach the Evros river and avoid so to have the fate of the shipwrecked in the Aegean sea.
They are welcome! Now both the Greek and the Turkish authorities have to support them and not to send riot police to stop them at the border. The refugees demand to pass with the approval of the authorities and then be directed to other European countries through safe passages.
Let the twenty young refugees drowned in Pharmakonisi and four new small dead "Aylans" be the last on the altar of racist Fortress Europe, closed borders and fences.
The fence in Evros was a racist gift of Greek governments in closing EU borders that pushed thousands of refugees into the hands of traffickers and their floating coffins bringing the death by drowning of thousands of refugees. Unfortunately the government of SYRIZA did not demolished the fence. Unfortunately the last year’s flood did not destroyed the fence totally. We need to knock down now the fence because every meter of it means more women and children refugees drown, on the Aegean or on Evros, from more dangerous passages.
We condemn the racist cries of neoliberals of new Democracy who aligned with Merkel in the new inhuman shift of closing the borders after the meeting of EU interior ministers. WE have to close the door to the neo-Nazis of Golden Dawn who scream hysterically against refugees seeking to send troops to the border to stop them!
The refugees shall not be a game on the diplomatic chessboard and economic rivalries of EU coalition of wolves. The refugees shall not be scapegoats for the failure of the system that brings austerity, poverty and unemployment.
The Left parties and trade unions is time to come forward to stop the criminal chase refugees in Evros and the Aegean sea. It is time to demand asylum to persecuted refugees and the opening of hosting centers and hotels with humane treatment, to facilitate the movement of refugees with public transport, trains and buses.
We call an international meeting against racism and fascism in Athens on 10-11 October to build resistance to fascism and coordinate actions of solidarity to refugees.

The mobilization on the first day of the trial of the Nazi Golden Dawn imposed the beginning of the trial and its continuation on May 7. Thousands of workers took part in the strike of ADEDY and other unions, the residents of Korydallos, students, people with disabilities, artists, trade unionists of PAME, activists of SYRIZA and ANTARSYA made a strong presence to the call of the anti-fascist movement.
The Nazis of Golden Dawn showed again their real face with bullying against witnesses in the trial, friends of Paul Fyssas family.
The Police got its hands full pressing against the anti-fascist rally and gave cover to the swoop by the few Nazi from a point where they protected them. They didn’t arrest anybody!
The court began by reading the list of witnesses of the prosecution in an area which does not ensure the conditions of the trial, with open access for the public and full publicity. The Police is the one that determined the entrance! The request for the trial to move to the Athens Appeal Court was heard by lawyers of civil action and the mayor of Korydallos.
It is scandalous that the Minister of Education Kourakis, who promised that he would appear at the trial to request the transfer due among other reasons also due to the national exams, now he arranges the transportation of six hundred students of the third class of Lyceum from the physical space of their school to other schools in areas of Keratsini and Perama! He moves hundreds of students rather than he along with Justice Minister Paraskevopoulos to assume their responsibilities and to transfer the trial to the Court of Appeal.
The leaders of the Nazis boycotted the trial, both Michaloliakos and most MPs. The brave words that they will give battle to topple the alleged conspiracy, evaporated and they returned to their permanent tactic, trying to separate their responsibilities from the lower "foot soldiers" of their paramilitary strormtroopers mechanism.
They are Nazi murderers and not just hothead criminals!
No one should be fooled by this tactic. It goes hand in hand with trying to appear as "legal party" and they even offer support to the government of SYRIZA as an "anti-memorandum force"! The Nazism of Golden Dawn is the motivation behind every crime committed by the kinds of Roupakias. They cannot exist without racist and fascist attacks against trade unionists, immigrants, Roma, homosexuals, people with disabilities. Nazism is not mutating. Instead, we should fend off efforts for them to be rescued because supposedly they mutate into a normal parliamentary party.
With the power of strikes and rallies we will win!
There can be no complacency assigning to justice a carte blanche for the trial! Such supposedly neutral stance leaves the ground for the Nazis to terrorize the witnesses and enforce their own terms at the trial.
The mobilization of ADEDY was catalytic in the first day of the trial and so it isolated further the fascists and their parrots in the media.
On May 7 the right will be judged for a full presence in the trial of the lawyers of civil action, who defend the victims of the murderous attacks of the Golden Dawn. We ask the voice of the anti-fascist movement to be heard on the accusation for the establishment of the Nazi criminal organization.
The united anti-fascist movement needs to continue the battle to avert a soft landing for the Nazi murderers of the Golden Dawn and for the trial to proceed at the Athens Court of Appeal. With the same momentum, on May 7 we escalate!
We will not allow witnesses to pass through the terror of the bulgy thugs of the Nazi organization and be attacked. With our presence we need to impose that the trial will be a condemnation of the Nazis.
Everyone on May 7th at 8am at the Proodeftiki stadium and march to the Korydallos prison.
Not one should be absent!
