KEERFA salutes the millions of protesters sending the message that we can crush the warmongering murderers and racism.
Athens firmly put itself on the map of the global uprising on March 28, which spreaded across Europe and peaked in the U.S. with 8 millions, demanding that “King” Trump step down, an end to war on Iran, an the dismantling of ICE.
In London, half a million people flooded the streets against war and the far right, with the central slogan “Together, another world is possible.” But Rome and Paris were also shaken by tens of thousands of protesters. Another superpower standing against the horror of imperialist wars, the mobilized world of the working class and youth stood tall once again.
The thousands of demonstrators who poured into the march toward the U.S. Embassy were an anti-war cry against the dirty war waged by the murderers Trump and Netanyahu in Iran and Palestine, but also against the New Democracy government that is staining its hands with blood . It was also a resounding response to racism and Islamophobia.There was a massive turnout from the Pakistani Community of Greece “UNITY,” with many migrant workers leaving their jobs to join the demonstration and demand that the asylum of Javied Aslam, president of the Community, not be revoked.
In Athens and Thessaloniki, American workers living in Greece joined the demonstrations.
Workers from schools and hospitals were present with their union banners, as were students from various schools.
In a united and dynamic way, the path is being paved for anti-war, anti-racist, and anti-fascist action to escalate both internationally and in Greece.
It is time to organize the momentum that can crush Mitsotakis’ murderous campaign alongside Trump and Netanyahu, by escalating strikes for wage increases, to put an end to wasteful military spending, and to close the military bases of death. It was only the beginning!

No to the revocation of Javied Aslam’s international protection status

The revocation of Javied Aslam’s asylum by the far-right Minister of Migration, Thanos Plevris is an extreme racist act aimed at silencing the president of the Pakistani Community of Greece “UNITY” because he has stood firm, for the thirty years he has been in Greece, against racism and fascism, injustice, discrimination, for the defense of the rights of persecuted refugees, and against the social exclusion of migrants in workplaces, neighborhoods, at sea, and on land—from Manolada to Elliniko, from Pylos to Chios.
It stands steadfastly alongside trade unions, student associations, solidarity movements, and civil society organizations. It is the voice that denounced the abductions of 28 Pakistanis by the secret services in 2005, the attacks by Golden Dawn Nazis, and the murders of migrants in police stations, such as that of Mohammad Kamran.
By targeting a key witness in the Golden Dawn trial—the murderers of Shahzat Lukman and Pavlos Fyssas—the government has no qualms about reaching out to the far right and offering services to Golden Dawn members.
At the same time, the government is initiating criminal proceedings and smear campaigns to cover up the crime in Chios that left 15 people dead. Slander against lawyer Dimitris Houlis for defending the survivors of Chios, an international arrest warrant for activist Tommy Olsen, because he was documenting pushbacks in the Aegean Sea, and a threat of prosecution against journalist Christos Avramidis for asking a question of the government spokesperson.
The government rivals Trump in racist brutality, with ICE agents hunting down migrants for deportation, culminating in the execution of Rene Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. In Chios, Pylos, as well as in Tempi and Violanta, people’s lives do not matter.
We demand an end to the vindictive revocation of Javied Aslam’s international protection status. It is time for legalization, asylum, and the granting of citizenship to migrants who have been long-term members of society.
We join our voices with the international movement spreading from Minnesota and the U.S. to Europe in the global mobilization against racism and fascism on March 28, with a rally in Athens, at Syntagma Square, at 3 p.m.

Let's get rid of the government of murderers that backs the fascists
We join our voices with the millions who are preparing to take to the streets in the US on March 28, inspired by the uprising in Minneapolis that crushed Trump's ICE bounty hunters, the murderers of poet Rene Goode and nurse Alex Pretti. We extend our hand to the movement in Europe that is fighting against the far right and the fascist threat in Britain, France, Germany, Italy and elsewhere.
We are rising up to put an end to the murders of refugees and migrants at the closed borders of Fortress Europe, this death policy organised by the New Democracy government and the EU. It has turned the Coast Guard into a war machine against persecuted refugees trying to escape bombing and poverty. Trump and Netanyahu's friends are killing in Gaza, and they are also killing in the Mediterranean, with 33,000 drownings in the last 15 years.
We will not allow the government to shift the blame for poverty, high prices, high rents, and the destruction of education and health care onto the refugees who supposedly threaten us. It is the government itself that is to blame.
It is their fault that they give everything to their billionaire friends for their profits while lives are lost in Tempi, Pylos, Chios, Violanta, and the labor camps of Elliniko. The government spends billions on weapons and cuts back on our needs.
We are protesting so that the 21 Coast Guard officers will be sent to a naval court. So that the murderers from the government and the Coast Guard who drowned over 600 refugees in Pylos are finally punished. So that the head of the Coast Guard, T. Kontizas, who is being prosecuted for crimes that caused the death of refugees in Pylos, is finally removed from office. Is it possible that he continues to be responsible for persecutions such as those in Chios, where the heads of 15 refugees, women, and children were smashed?
We are flooding Syntagma Square and other cities so that we do not allow the government to turn a blind eye to the far right and the fascists. Dear relatives of the 57 people, young people, students, and workers who were brutally murdered on February 28. We open our arms to you and hold your hands. WE ARE WITH YOU!
We share the pain in our souls and hearts because our own loved ones on the ship Adriana in Pylos are no longer in our arms. Our tears became one with the sea that took them away from us forever.
We are the mothers, siblings, and children of the 750 migrants who put their dreams for a better life on a ship that sank in the Mediterranean. The mothers, fathers, and siblings of the victims from Pakistan, Syria, Egypt, and Palestine join you in mourning on February 28.
We also join our voices with yours in calling for true justice, for the whole of humanity to learn the truth, for the murderers to be punished.
Don't all human lives matter? Don't the lives of young people who want to study and get on a train safely matter?
Our condolences to all of you. And to the family of Mia Mohamad Idris, the migrant worker from Bangladesh who died on the Tembi train. We were moved by Panos Routsis' hunger strike and the support in Greece.
They are spreading fear and hatred across the globe. Our governments want us to work like slaves in Europe and America, but they persecute us everywhere. Everything for profit, nothing for life.
That is why we will stand up globally against injustice, wars, and racism, and on March 28, we will rise up everywhere. Thank you for your support. We share the same pain.
May our tears become a sea of rage against the injustice that kills our children.

From Athens to Minneapolis, global resistance to racism!

On Friday, January 23, we join our voices with the rebellious Minneapolis against the murderers of Trump and Mitsotakis.
It is a day of honor for activist Rene Nicole Good, the mother and activist who was murdered by Trump's armed ICE immigration bounty hunters in Minneapolis when she stood in their way to defend her immigrant neighbors. Postal and teachers' unions and an entire movement of solidarity with immigrants are calling for strikes and mass protests on January 23.
We are joining our voices, rising up alongside them, with a solidarity concert on Friday, January 23, at the Architecture School, where we will connect with the people demonstrating at the same time in Minneapolis.
It is a provocation for Mitsotakis to support Trump's barbarism, his murderous racist policy against immigrants, his attack on the solidarity movement in Palestine, his attack on Venezuela, and the kidnapping of President Maduro.
Joining us at the concert will be Panos Routsis, Giannis Mangos, and Iasonas Apostolopoulos.

The solidarity concert is a step towards confronting the government of racism, sexism, and poverty, the government that slanders farmers, students, and hospital and school workers who defend public health and education.
On Saturday, January 17, at the anti-fascist mobilization in Petralona, we shouted "from Athens to Minnesota, stop murderers Trump and Mitsotakis” and we will continue. So that the trial takes place in the Naval Court and the murderers of 650 refugees in Pylos go to prison.

Ce projet de loi a d'ailleurs été légué à Plevris par son « concurrent » Voridis, qui l'avait élaboré jusqu'à ce qu'il soit pris en flagrant délit lors du scandale de l'OPEKEPE et démissionne de son poste de ministre de l'Immigration.

Plevris and the New Democracy government are escalating their racist campaign against immigrants and refugees by pushing a bill through parliament next week that will slash the rights of refugees and immigrants. The bill was left as a legacy to Plevris by his "competitor" Voridis, who had drafted it until he was caught with his hands in the OPECEPE “scandal of goats” and resigned as Minister of Migration.
With brutal measures targeting refugees and immigrants and vulgar attacks on solidarity and organizations that support the rights of the oppressed, such as the Greek Council of Refugees and the RSA, the government is seeking to divert the attention of a public outraged by its crimes in Tempi and Pylos and scandals such as OPECEPE.
A government that targets public sector workers with new disciplinary measures and young people with mass expulsions from universities. A government that gives everything to wars, wasting billions on armament, supporting Trump and the genocidal Netanyahu, introducing racist measures and paving the way for the orphans of Golden Dawn and the far right to return to the forefront. These are the supports it seeks to save itself from collapse.
We will not let it happen!
We will not let the racist Plevris bill pass, which criminalizes immigration with imprisonment for undocumented immigrants and heavy fines, and abolishes the granting of residence permits for exceptional reasons to those who have been living in the country for seven years. Behind the cries of "cracking down on illegal immigration," he wants to fill the country with concentration camps, as he will punish offenders with 5 years in prison. In practice, it is going to impose even harsher conditions of illegal labor and exploitation on thousands of workers in the fields, hotels, small industries, construction, and factories.
It is time to thwart its coup measures, such as the three-month ban on the right to apply for asylum for refugees coming from Haftar's Libya.
Instead of ensuring a humane reception for refugees, they are sending frigates to the south of Crete for refoulements, such as the one that led to the drowning of 600 people in Pylos. They are criminalizing organizations that demand the right to apply for asylum!!!

Two years since the crime of Pylos: Tough struggles against the cover-up

Two years have passed on 14 June since the biggest racist crime in recent years in the Mediterranean, the shipwreck of Pylos. It is two years of a constant, persistent and hard fight to prevent its cover-up, to punish the killers, to get justice.
The crime is the responsibility of the Greek Coastguard and the government of the New Domocracy(1). The recent prosecution by the Piraeus Maritime Court against 17 members of the Coastguard, including senior officers of its leadership, paves the way for the conviction of those guilty for the crime. The defendants are being referred to a main interrogation for investigation of felony charges, including causing a shipwreck as well as endangering life resulting in the deaths of hundreds of refugees.
Murderous pushback
It is now widely known how the crime was organised and executed. The more than 750 refugees on board the fishing vessel Adriana, who had set sail from Tobruk, Libya, bound for Italy, were informed on the morning of 13 June 2023 that they were in danger. They were sailing in international waters in the Greek search and rescue zone off Pylos. A few hours later, at dawn on 14 June, only 104 would be rescued, 82 would be recovered dead and the rest, including many women and children, would be lost forever at sea.
For 15 hours the Coast Guard Operations Center watched the overloaded skiff without transmitting MAYDAY. Greek authotities and Coast Guard knew that there were already dead refugees on board, that its engine had serious problems. They knew it was rocking dangerously all the time. But instead of calling in lifeboats as they should have done - such as the Aigaion Pelagos, which was in the nearby port of Gythio that day - they mobilized a patrol boat, the PPLS 920.

We demand an end to the murders of immigrants at the borders, in police stations, in concentration camps. The organizers of the Coast Guard and the government who drowned the 600 refugees in Pylos on 14/6/2023 should go to the Naval Court and to prison. The murderers of Mohamed Kamran and Mia Harizoul should go to prison. For open borders for refugees, asylum and for the death camps to be closed.
To put an end to the escalation of the racist campaign by Boridis-Kikilias-Chrysochoidis. The government appointed Tryfonas Kontizas as head of the Coast Guard instead of suspending him at a time when the Ombudsman has requested that he be referred to the military court for the crime of Pylos. It is a scandal, it is a cover-up just like in Tempi!
It is the same government that froze the law on papers for migrant workers with a three-year stay in the country. It is the same government that delays the renewal of residence permits for up to three years or issues them after they have expired, making life difficult for all migrants. The government, overwhelmed by the anger over Tempi, is trying to divert it into hatred against migrants and refugees by turning the borders into death traps for the Coast Guard with chases and pushbacks. We will stop it!

On 9 April, we all strike and demonstrate in the General strike, picking up the thread from the great General strike of 28 February and the biggest strike demonstrations ever organized in Greece. We are continuing and escalating our strikes to put an end to this gang of unrepentant murderers in government.
The Mitsotakis government, after the vote in parliament on the motion of censure, pretends that it has 'heard the message' and therefore the mobilizations are over, 'you have shouted, you have shouted; now back to business as usual'. The government's reshuffle has shown that they remain determined to escalate their attacks on the working class and its rights.
The main orchestrators of the 'bazaar' remain unmoved with Florides in Justice and Chrysochoidis in Public Order, and the same goes for Adonis Georgaides, the man who is destroying the National Health Service on a daily basis. Even worse, Voridis goes to Immigration in a direct challenge to the movement demanding that the murderers of Pylos be punished.
Mitsotakis and his gang are preparing a new round of escalating attacks. They are aligning themselves with NATO to increase armaments to 3% of GDP as demanded by Trump and the EU, announcing a ferocious program of tens of billions of euros in new armaments, but at the same time declaring that the economy cannot afford to give wage increases, nor the 13th and 14th wage in the public sector.
Hospitals, schools and municipalities are suffering from a shortage of staff, but Mitsotakis' answer is not the recruitment and the regularization of thousands of contract workers, but the evaluation in the public sector, the dismissals and the persecution of 2000 teachers.
These are unrepentant killers who have turned all workplaces into mounds, but at the same time they are hanging on by a thread, ready to collapse, because they are the weakest government, the most hated one that has gathered the wrath of all workers.
It is now obvious to all of us that motions of censure and parliamentary manoeuvres cannot overthrow them. On 9 April, we all strike and demonstrate in the General strike, picking up the thread from the great General strike of 28 February and the biggest strike demonstrations until today. We are continuing and escalating our strikes to put an end to this gang of unrepentant murderers in government
The strike on April 9 can be as big and massive as the one on February 28, and therefore it needs to be organized from below, by the grassroots militants.
In every workplace we should set up strike committees and struggle committees that will take on their shoulders the information and organization of the strike. With daily rallies everywhere and general assemblies in every union and every place. We will ensure that all workplaces will be closed down. Wherever security personnel are needed, the Union should pick them not the management. That they will guard the strike on 9 April and that all of them will come out en masse to the strike rallies of all colleagues.
We are fighting to overthrow the government of the murderers and open another perspective for the labour movement. A perspective that is not limited to the parliamentary solutions of the opposition, but instead puts forward the workers' way out. Workers' control in every workplace, and throughout society. Let the workers take the baton of society, so that we can put an end once and for all to the system that sacrifices our lives every day for the bosses' profits.

On March 22, we rise up around the globe after Trump's inauguration to crush the threat of fascism and end the murder of migrant refugees at the border. Don't let the government cover up its crimes in Pylos, Tempi and police stations.
Hundreds of thousands took to the streets in support of the relatives of the victims in Tempi to prevent from being covered up the murder of 57 students and workers, locals and migrants. These people stand with the families of the refugees who saw over 600 children, parents and siblings murdered in Pylos and are demanding justice.
In Tempi, they destroyed the crime scene and deleted video from cameras to cover up their crime. In Pylos, the cameras of the state-of-the-art chase boat they sent were not working! The cell phones of the eyewitness survivors initially disappeared and the authorities claim they were destroyed! The people in charge on the high floors were not questioned in either case! No cover-up, no more impunity for the killers at the border! Thirty thousand murdered in the last 15 years in the Mediterranean!
In Tempi, privatization has killed 57 of our fellow citizens. In Pylos, the racism of persecution and pushbacks, systematically organized by the government of New Democracy, brought the sinking of the refugee ship on 14/6/2023. The Coast Guard towed it with a rope to chase it to Italy, causing it to sink. For 15 hours, the Coast Guard and Frontex did not rescue the 750 refugees but sank it and recovered over 80 bodies and only 104 survivors.
For this crime, the trial in the Maritime Court is necessary now and the murderers must go to prison. All the evidence of the crime is in the hands of the authorities and they know the perpetrators. Mitsotakis, as he ran to make a "conclusion" of a cover-up for Tempi, did the same with Pylos, putting the responsibility on the refugees themselves, that they did not want to be saved!
