KEERFA MOVEMENT UNITED AGAINST RACISM AND FASCIST THREAT
CANCEL THE RACIST EU-TURKEY AGREEMENT
OPEN THE BORDERS, NO DEPORTATIONS
NO CONCENTRATION CAMPS
NATO AND FRONTEX OUT!
ASYLUM AND SHELTER TO REFUGEES
We welcome the thousands who marched on Saturday, March 19 in Greece and in over 17 countries, participating in the international action day against racism and fascism. It was the first revolt against the shame of the EU-Turkey agreement with the signature of the SYRIZA-ANEL government. We proclaimed our determination to strengthen the movement of solidarity to refugees so that with the labor and student movement to press the fight for the cancellation in effect of the shameful agreement. For not letting concentration camps to open and for not proceeding to mass expulsions to Turkey. Not to let the Police send
immigrants handcuffed into concentration camps .
On March 19 two worlds clashed. On one side a world of solidarity to refugees and on the other the Europe of fences and expulsions, racism and Islamophobia. Now they attempt to use the new attack of ISIS at Brussels to attack the movement and to harden the EU fortress further, leading to more drownings at the border.
Islamophobia is the veil masking the governments' responsibility for the imperialist intervention in the Middle East and Asia that sowed death in the wars. ISIS was a reactionary organization that worked like a ram against the Arab uprisings; only their revival may block their path. The bombardments and the denial of democratic freedoms, the fences and the Guantanamos nourish them further. Recent protests in Syria showed this opportunity.
Internationally the picture on March 19, was sensational. Thousands of protesters flooded London, Vienna and Barcelona. Massive was the march in Warsaw and in Nicosia, Zurich and Dublin. From Ljubljana and Berlin to Amsterdam and Copenhagen, the fences in Europe came into aim.
The antiracist rage swept Australia in many cities while New York came out against racist Presidential candidate Trump. Even in the Middle East, at Beirut reached the call of March 19.
Thousands marched all over Greece in Athens, Thessaloniki, Chania, Xanthi, Volos, Patras, Ioannina, Mytilini. In Athens, protesters marched from Omonia to the EU Oficces, sending an angry message against the shame of the EU-Turkey agreement. Refugees and immigrants from Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, Senegal, Guinea and Bangladesh mingled with workers, students, teachers and high school students.
The initiative for an international mobilization of March 19 was taken at the KEERFA International Meeting against racism and fascism, on 10 to 11 October 2015 in Athens. It was only the beginning of an international coordination against the fences of EU and fascism.
We need to continue immediately!
Cancel in effect the agreement
Undertake the goal target to cancel in effect the agreement of shame of EU-Turkey, strengthening the solidarity movement for refugees and organizing collective mass action of trade unions and student associations. Already, both Amnesty International and the UNHCR react to expulsions and imprisonment.
It is time to step up action in order not to allow the EU and NATO killers to drown refugees with closed borders in the Aegean, with patrols of NATO, FRONTEX and the Greek and Turkish border guards.
To halt mass deportations to Turkey and the opening of concentration camps with the conversion of accommodation sites into Amygdaleza style prisons.
We demand the massive legalization of all migrants and the granting of asylum to refugees with the right to work, right of children to school registration and citizenship, the right to decent housing in the cities and not in ghettos.
We are struggling to block the path for the rise of fascism and racist parties, from the Golden Dawn as well as Baltakos & Co. who prepare a new party all the way to Le Pen and their like across Europe. On April 20, is a full year since the start of the trial of the Golden Dawn and Roupakias, the killer of Paul Fyssas has been released!
