maltaOpen letter to the Prime Minister of Malta, Mr Robert Abella, for the immediate provision of a safe harbour for “Conscience”.

Prime Minister Mr Robert Abella,
we call on you to ensure that the «Conscience» is given immediate access to a safe harbour in Malta to repair the damage caused by the Israeli IDF drone attack.

The drone attack on a ship carrying humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine, who are facing genocide and starvation, was an act of international terrorism and piracy. It is unknown whether Israel is planning a new attack to sink the «Conscience» ship.

It is unthinkable that the Mediterranean Sea should be turned into a war zone against humanitarian organizations seeking either to relieve victims of war or to rescue refugees whose lives are in danger due to violent pushbacks, such as the one committed by the Greek Coast Guard off Pylos on 14/6/2023, with over 600 people drowned.

The Mediterranean is already a wet graveyard for thousands of refugees trying to escape the brutality of wars in their countries.
The Mediterranean cannot be turned by Israel into a war zone, a field of persecution for humanitarian organizations fighting for peace and justice, like the people on board the “Conscience”.

We therefore call on you IMMEDIATELY to allow the “Conscience” to enter a safe port in Malta.

With honor,
The Coordinating Committee of KEERFA-Movement United Against Racism and the Fascist Threat
