All Workers Demonstration, Saturday 12 October, Victoria Square 2.30pm
Punish the killers of Mohamed Kamran
Pylos, Tempi, Agios Panteleimonas, end the government of murderers
We express our condolences to the mother, wife and three children of Mohamed Kamran. The torture to death of migrant delivery worker Mohamed Kamran Asik at the St. Panteleimonas Police Station is a barbaric racist crime.
The gruesome images of Mohamed Kamran Asik's lifeless body from his inhuman treatment at the hands of the torturers of the police at the Agios Panteleimon police station are a testimony to the racist hate cultivated by the government of the New Democracy party. This government when it is not drowning refugees in Pylos and women and children in the Aegean sea, it is torturing migrants to death in police stations and shooting Roma in the camps. The responsibility for the murder is in the hands of the government. Its racist policy devalues migrants and refugees and turns them into targets for every border guard, port guard and police officer.
The same government that has in its hands the crime in Pylos the drowning of over 600 refugees, is responsible for the lives lost in its crime in Tempi crash train. It is the government that stands by the genocide of the Palestinians.
While it is sowing poverty, in fact, the rupture of the NHS and public education, the privatisation of energy, water and transport, while it is wasting billions on armaments, fences and refugee persecution at the borders, it is trying to divert the anger from its policies to hatred against migrants and refugees, claiming that they are to blame for the deterioration of our lives.
It is the policy that gives wind to the sails of the far right and fascists in Greece and Europe. We must block its way by demanding an end to the murderous policies on the borders of racist fortress Europe. The lives of refugees and migrants matter!
We demand an end to the impunity of police brutality that led to the long list of Greek Police deaths, including the Roma Nikos Sambanis, Kostas Fragoulis, Christos Michalopoulos, but also Vassilis Magos, Kostas Manioudakis and of course Alexis Grigoropoulos. They should be in prison along with the nazi murderers of Pavlos Fyssas and Sehzat Luqman.
The responsibility for the murder is in the hands of the government. Its racist policy devalues migrants and refugees and turns them into targets for every border guard, port guard and police officer.
We call on the trade unions, the student associations, the organisations of the left to escalate the struggles, with strikes and occupations, in order to put an end to the police racist brutality of the government, which is backing the genocide of the Palestinians, the government that has the crime of the 600 drowned refugees of Pylos in its hands.
The delivery workers of WOLT and e-FOOD, supported by the Attica Food and Tourism Trade Union, are striking and demonstrating on 11 October. We call on all migrant and local workers in this sector to participate en masse and demand along with all their demands that there be no cover-up of the murder of migrant delivery driver Mohamed Kamran. To continue the strike on 12/10 to give a loud response against the racist murders and attacks against delivery workers.
We call on students to support the struggle by occupying the schools against police brutality, to end the genocide in Palestine, to end the attacks of the National Health Service and on public education.
The government's crime, the murder of Mohammed Kamran, should be the last one before it becomes the past.
