KEERFA - Movement AGAINST RACISM AND FASCIST THREAT
International Meeting and the Pan-Hellenic Assembly Against Racism and Fascism
Athens, 14-15 October 2017, Indoor Basket Court of Rouf, Pireos and Eghelidon.
Across Europe, the movement against racism and fascism raises its voice to put the break to the policies of Europe-fortress that pave the ground to the far right and the fascists. Resistance in France, Britain, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands is putting the break to the aspirations of racist demagogues who target Muslims so as to break up resistance to the policies of persistent austerity, poverty and bloody imperialist interventions. The struggles of the movement give voice to refugees and immigrants to resist racist policies, attacks and neo-Nazism.
We were on the side of the land workers in Goritsa Aspropyrgos against the racist attacks sending the message that the Golden Dawn attempt did not pass behind the mask of indignant citizens. We supported the migrant workers at the K. Georgiou firm in Avlona, who, with their long-running strike, crushed racism and employer’s intimidation. We were in refugee camps, strengthening the solidarity with the refugees against the lies of Mouzalas and the repressive dashes against the housing occupations.Together with the strikers of POSPERT (federation of personnel in public radio & TV), we did not let ERT show the speeches at the Hate events of Führer Michaloliakos. The assassination attempt against student Alexis Lazaris was answered by a mass movement that claims to shut down the offices-dens of the fascists.
The bankruptcy of the SYRIZA-ANEL government with the passage of the fourth memorandum went hand in hand with the more open compromises with the continuation of the EU-Turkey racist agreement, closed borders, concentration camps, ghettoes outside the cities, police operations against the Roma. This March 18 showed the potential of the anti-racist and anti-fascist movement in Greece and across Europe. With the same impetus, we have to discuss and organize our actions to take international initiatives, but also to continue the battle to complete the Golden Dawn trial and to put the murderers in prison and shut down the Offices-dens. We have to continue the struggle for letting refugees in cities and their children in schools.
In September, on the fourth anniversary of the assassination of Pavlos Fissas, we will escalate the anti-fascist action by demanding the offices of the Neo-Nazi Assassins to be closed, with a dynamic march at their Headquarters in Mesogheion Avenue. We call on the workers unions, student clubs, municipal movements, immigrant communities and refugee colleges, the LGBT+ community, the Roma people, people of Letters and the Arts to support the International Meeting Against Racism and to attend the International Meeting and the Pan-Hellenic Assembly Against Racism and Fascism.
